Breast cancer risk is reduced by taking vitamins. A 2010 study found that vitamin supplementation reduced the risk of developing breast cancer by 30%. The vitamins enhance DNA repair capacity which reduces susceptibility to cancer. Calcium was also found to be protective, reducing breast cancer risk by 40%, however it does not appear this is due to its role in DNA repair. Ensure any vitamin supplements you are taking are of high quality to obtain an effective result.
